誕生日おめでとう。Happy 78th Birthday to Akihito, Emperor of Japan!!!
Akihito (明仁, * December 23, 1933) formally became the 125th tennō of Japan on the 12th of November in 1990 after the death of his father Hirohito (the shōwa emperor / * April 29, 1901; † January 7, 1989) and his era is named heisei which means “peace everywhere”. On 10th of April in 1959 he married Michiko Shōda and broke a tradition that lasted over a thousand years as she was the first commoner to marry into the imperial family of Japan. The couple has two sons (Crowne Prince Naruhito & Prince Akishino) and one daughter (Sayako, who is no longer part of the official imperial family). I wish him all the best and a whole lot of healthy and happy years to come!
